FAQ – everything you need to know about delivery, gas bottles and more! If you can’t find the answer here use our contact page to ask our helpful staff
What Size gas bottles can I order?
We supply 9kg and 45 kg bottles. We can also fill other sizes. Talk to our friendly staff for further information.
Do I own the gas bottles, or am I just renting them? Do they belong to me, you or the property?
Most people just rent the bottles, as we are then responsible for maintaining and delivering them. Much safer all around. Rented bottles then belong to us – if you leave the property let us know and we will arrange for pick up and return to our depot.
What happens if one of your gas bottles gets damaged while on my property?
Ring us and let us know immediately. Your home insurance should cover any costs – check with them for further details.
Are your delivery team friendly and safe?
Yes! Our drivers have all been with us for quite some time, and they all take Health and Safety very seriously. They are all lovely, friendly people who will try and go the extra mile to help you. We are very conscious of your personal property and privacy, and we ensure that the team we have selected to deliver for us are friendly, safe, professional and approachable
I live in the country – will you deliver to my address?
Give us a call on 03 768 0311 and we will discuss it with you. Chances are we can – there are not many places we are unable to go to.
I have a dog – or other free-range animals – do they need to be contained before you will deliver?
Preferably for the first couple of visits at least – until everybody gets to know each other. We recommend to have them safely restrained during our visits. We would be devastated if anything happened to your beloved family pet. Please let us know if you have animals that are roaming free – we will try and advise delivery times as best we can when you contact us to arrange top ups or first deliveries. As you will be aware, we cannot always guarantee a certain time – but delivery on specific days allows for both us and you to ensure that pets etc are safe.
Will you place the gas cylinder exactly where I want it to be?
Within reason – there are rules and regulations about where and how bottles need to be placed. Our installers / drivers are able to explain these to you if there are any concerns. If you are away from the property on the first delivery drop off and we have any issues we will try to contact, you or leave you a note explaining our end results.
Are your cylinders safe? Can they explode?
Yes, our cylinders are safe, and are designed to withstand incredible amounts of pressure and heat. Even during the most intense fires our cylinders will not explode. They will simply release small bursts of gas in a controlled manner to reduce their pressure. All our bottles are regularly maintained and tested. We even go the extra mile by leak-testing your connections at every delivery. Safety first!
I can sometimes smell gas – should I be worried?
Yes – while smelling an odour of LPG may not in itself be a sign of danger (there can be several reasons for this) its always best to be cautious and call us or a registered gas fitter.
Is it safe for your cylinders to be placed in direct sunlight?
Yes. They are designed for this, as well know how strong the NZ Sun can be. Don’t worry if your cylinder is in direct sunlight, these bottles are built and maintained in NZ for our specific conditions.
How long can the gas stay unused in your cylinders, and still be safe?
As long as the bottles are stored upright in a well-ventilated area, they will be fine for several years, so if you’re ordering gas for your Bach or holiday home, its fine to use small amounts over a number of years.
Do you deliver during holidays?
Unfortunately, no – statutory holidays have no deliveries.
